"5 . . . 4 . . . "

Days till the premier of "Runaway Squad", of which our "DP" lead DP's". Be sure to Check it out, Monday @ 10:00 Eastern time on A&E.

We have a fallen Brother. A Line of Duty Death in the Chicago area. Homewood, Illinois.

Brian Carey wanted to be a firefighter since he was 5 years old.

Perished at 28 in a rescue operation . . . a successful rescue. One of the two residents survived.

Consumed by sadness it's hard to look at this operation as a success, having lost a resident and a firefighter, but it was. They rescued someone from unthinkable demise.

There is no "cost" factor. Just the "Human" factor. This young guy's human nature drove him in there to help another human. Period. He'd do it again. They'd do it again. The entire crew are the heroes. Even the "IC" calling the shots that night, who right now is feeling a bit responsible.

Congradulations Homewood Fire Department, on a successful rescue.

Our prayers are steady for Brian's family, friends and crew, and for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Elias, the residents.

Peace, our Brother,

Steve & Pete
