BURGERDOGS

How is everyone? Steve and I are on cloud 9. No, its not from inhaling smoke of any kind. We just received word that we are getting close to our dream of making "Heroes in the House" a reality. The responses from "producers in the know" have been GREAT. Our contact people have made great strides in getting their foot in the door and as Steve and I predicted they have asked us to sit and talk about our project. It is only a matter of time until we tell you what time and channel to tune into. Stay tuned for further information.

Today's blog is about having fun when you're cooking. It really shouldn't be a job or a chore. Even if you're in a hurry it can be fun. Let the kids help, give directions from the couch, have a drink or ten, cook wearing only your jock strap, do whatever you need to do to make it fun and the meal will be good and you will have a great time at the table talking about the preparation.

Tonight in the Sestito household we are having a simple meal of burger dogs, home-fries, and a french cut green bean salad with Italian dressing served cold. What are burger dogs? They are hamburgers shaped like hot dogs that fit into hot dog rolls. Why did we do that? We were out of hamburger rolls, but had plenty of hot dog rolls. The kids are peeling potatoes and getting ready to shape the burger dogs. I just finished my second glass of wine and getting ready to start the grill. My wife will handle the home-fries, I will make the french cut bean salad, and of course the grill belongs to me. So there you have it. A complete dinner with help from all members of the family. We talked, laughed, teased, and finally ate. It was good and it was entertaining. I am planning Friday nights dinner. The kids will be at their grandparents for the weekend, so I am thinking fantasy. Romantic candlelight, a light seafood main course, plenty of wine, soft music, etc... You get the picture.

Heroes in the House challenges you to spice up your cooking routine. Have fun, be creative, and let us know what you came up with. Have a great day.

Be Safe
Pete
