Snow in Cocoa Beach?

This isn't Cocoa Beach. This is Redfield, NY. These guys are clearing the Roof of the Redfield Inn, owned by one of our retired Brothers. THAT's cooperation!

This cold snap, from Bismark to Biscayne Bay, effects everyone in every region differently, but one thing is consistent: Our Brothers and Sisters of the Fire Service are going to be running non-stop because so many extra space heaters are being used, chimney fires, what ever odd things folks may try in order to keep warm. The EMS side (Emergency Medical Service) will be dealing with more exposure injuries (frost bite etc.), too.

Yup, it's snowing here in Cocoa Beach. Not a space heater available anywhere. Firewood is sold out and I can hear the local crews running all night.

So keep your Fire Service folks in mind. A 24 hour shift is a long one when you give 100% of your physical strength, mental capacity and human compassion for the entire tour. Bring them something warm . . . they won't get any kitchen time on days like this.
