We didn't sacrifice a sunny 80 degree day driving 10 hours to Savannah and back just to bring a kid back to school. Returning one of our 4 students by car was just an excuse to go to the Savannah Bee Company and stock up on one of my favorite sweeteners; Tupelo Honey.
Not just in the spirit of St. Patrick's day but because he is one of the world's greatest musicians, take a listen to Van Morrison's take on the awesomeness of nectar> But bee careful, you'll get hooked on one of Ireland's greats as well as one of Georgia's . . . tupelo honey. Hit the play arrow in the top right corner of the page when you go to this link:
Van Enjoy!
Now, what we would like to teach about the diversity, history, importance and benefits of honey is WAYYYY beyond the scope of this page, so take a break and read what the Savannah Bee Company can teach you about this
kitchen staple.
Read their story, look at the recipes, dive into some of the history they offer. There's a lot more here than just the merchandising function.
Take some to your firehouse, present it to the cook. Guaranteed special treatment if your cat is in the tree!
A little alert, though: you can't substitute honey for sugar in every recipe. I tried in the Biscotti. Destroyed!. Take Savannah Bee Company's guidance. They've made all the mistakes for you.
