We're In Miami Now

Miami . . .
What a city. What a Fire department. These crews of Miami not only love their job, but their department, their city and most of all their band of brothers (and sisters . . . right Julie?).

We got our "tails" whipped in a challenge to prepare one of Miami Fire Department Station 6 classics, Oxtail. But win or loose, we had the time of our lives.

Our challengers, as you can see, are not intimidated. We expected hot coffee and warm handshakes . . . but instead we were greeted like this, and with; "This is our house. Give it your best shot"

As we got into it, though, their real attitude became clear; their house is our house. Pete and I felt as though we had worked there our entire career, and were a part of the crew. We don't need any red carpet when we win our Emmy. If we are treated in every city as we were in Miami, we'll feel like we're on a red carpet every week!

I think the greatest collateral benefit from doing this show will be the real friends we make. Yea Captain Rick, we're taking you up on that air boat fishing in the Everglades! Your crew can show us how to prepare Gator so we're prepared when Lafayette LA calls.
