P-A-R-T- Why? Because Dad's at the Firehouse

Probably MORE so if Mom's at the firehouse!

My Dad wasn't a firefighter. Neither was Pete's Father. But my father-in law was. And from the time she was born until the day I retired, Catherine had never known life without "firehouse days". When she was a kid, her and her brother, missing their dad, would pull a "street box" alarm just so they could see their dad. They caught hell for it, but they sure laugh about it now. Being married to a firefighter was easier . . . she could just drive to see me.

But as a child and as a mom, one thing remained constant; Firehouse night was McDonalds night.

We drone on and on about firehouse traditions, meals time, recipes handed down . . . but here is a well kept, underground tradition shared by the families of firefighters. Of course it wasn't always Mikke-d's, but it sure wasn't a meat-and-potatoes night at home!

So, beware families. If your spouse, mom, dad, whatever is being featured as a cook on Heroes In The House, we'll be watching you. Just a little espionage with a "sniper" camera to see what you are doing for dinner on firehouse nights.
